The University of Florida (UF) is a comprehensive public land-grant research institution established in 1906, situated within a 2,000-acre campus in Gainesville, Florida. UF is home to 5,500 distinguished faculty, 20 colleges and schools, state-of-the-art clinical research facilities, multidisciplinary research centers and institutes, and a Clinical and Translational Science Institute. The UF Health Science Center (HSC) was established in 1956 and is the largest and most comprehensive academic health center in the southeastern United States. The HSC provides 3.2 million sq ft. of research, teaching and clinical space. It is one of the country’s few academic health centers with six health-related colleges located on a single, contiguous campus. UF’s commitment to research excellence is reflected in its membership in the Association of American Universities and its classification among the top research universities by the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education.
The University of Southern California (USC) is one of a small number of premier research institutions on which the nation depends for a steady stream of new knowledge, art, and technology. USC is leading private research university, with over $1 billion in annual research expenditures, placing it among an elite group private universities with such high research activity. USC is home to the Dornsife College and to 23 Schools and units. Southern California Clinical and Translational Science Institute (SC CTSI) was founded in 2008 and is a multi-faceted research institute created by the USC and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) to translate scientific discoveries into solutions for better health. USC has become a true university of the southern California region, with its University Park Campus and Health Science Campus, including the adjacent USC owned Keck Hospital and Norris Cancer Hospital, as well as Verdugo Hills and Arcadia Hospitals in nearby communities.

By leveraging and sharing the extensive mentoring and training resources of the University of Florida and the University of Southern California, the CADRRE program broadens access to high‑quality research development opportunities. Through this collaborative approach, we aim to cultivate a larger cohort of highly trained scientists who will lead innovative research, secure external funding and mentor the next generation of leaders in rehabilitation research.
